The higher exhaust pressure and temperature from high performance engines can degrade the matting in “everyday” converters, leading to exhaust blow-by and converter failure. Eastern’s High Performance Converters with 300-cell ceramic catalysts feature stainless steel mesh V-rings that protect their mat’s leading edge from these higher pressures, to ensure long-life performance.
