Eastern Catalytic Pioneers Direct-fit High Performance Catalytic Converter Program

Eastern Manufacturing, a world-class manufacturer of catalytic converters and related emission control components, has just launched the industry’s first and only line of Direct-fit High Performance Catalytic Converters. The line offers an easy, bolt-on performance upgrade with vehicle-specific coverage for over 380 of the most popular cars, SUVs, and light trucks on the market today.
Applications for the Direct-fit line include models from Acura, Audi, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Honda, Infinity, Mazda, Mercury, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Pontiac, Saturn, Scion, Subaru, Toyota and VW. Light truck coverage includes Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Hummer, Nissan, and Toyota.
Delivering better flow, higher horsepower, and increased torque
Eastern Performance Converters feature a 200-cell/sq. in. metal catalyst to deliver significantly less backpressure than the 400-cell/sq. in. configurations used in typical OE and aftermarket converters. The 200-cell catalyst’s large holes create better flow, higher horsepower, and increased torque. Eastern’s high-tech NANO wash coat enables the new converters to meet emissions compliance in 49 states*, despite the reduced surface area of the large cell catalyst design.
Exceptional Test Results
Eastern’s new direct-fit performance converters have consistently delivered significant performance gains when tested against OEM converters. (Ed note: See attached performance chart). Independent testing on a 2002 Chevy Camaro Z-28 5.7 L equipped with SLP exhaust, an Eastern Direct-fit 200 cell foil converter, demonstrated a 62% decrease in backpressure at 4000 RPM, + 6 horsepower increase @ 5300 RPM, and +7 additional ft-lbs of torque @ 4600 RPM.
Specially designed to handle high output engines and turbos
The metallic catalysts used in Eastern Performance Converters can withstand the extreme pressures and vibration that can crumble conventional ceramic catalysts. Because there’s no ceramic catalyst to hold in place, no InteramTM matting is needed, eliminating pressure blowouts that can be caused by turbo-charged and high performance engines.
All of Eastern’s Direct-fit High Performance Converters are made from 409 stainless steel. They’re built on precision-made, fixed platforms and feature OE-style flanges for an easy bolt on fit. Full-length heat shields are included whenever present on OE versions. Eastern Catalytic also offers a complete range of Universal Performance Converters in standard oval and large oval sizes, as well as welded/spun round configurations. A complete range of inlet and outlet sizes is offered.
Eastern’s coverage for cars, light trucks, SUVs, and vans is the best in the industry. The company’s Direct-fit line now includes over 1,100 part numbers with coverage for over 26,000 applications. The Eastern Universal line has over 275 SKUs in configurations to fit over 95% of the registered vehicles in U.S. and Canada.
